CCC True Parts Network to Integrate with Pinnacle Professional Automotive Recycling Software
Pinnacle users will now be able to offer parts directly to CCC’s expansive based of collision repair shops. CCC collision repair customers write more than 10 million repair orders per year, according to a release on the agreement between CCC and Actual Systems. EPA Mandates Improvements at Puerto Rico Salvage Yard to Settle Pollution Claim
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reached a legal settlement with W.R. Recycling of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, resolving alleged violations of federal hazardous waste law. W.R. Recycling is the owner and operator of an auto crushing and scrap recycling business. As part of the settlement announced today, W.R. Recycling will make a range of site improvements to control runoff and invest $133,000 in a project to purchase and install equipment that will ensure the clean extraction, removal and storage of harmful liquids from all the vehicles it handles. W.R. Recycling was also hit with a 29k fine. Read the EPA’s press release for details on the settlement.

PA Adds Rail Materials to Dealer Only Sales List; Establishes Statewide Registry of Scrap Dealers
Pennsylvania’s has revised its scrap metal theft prevention statutes to require scrap processors and recycling facilities to register with the state police. The law also adds rail spikes, ties, and track to the list of metal items that can only be sold by a scrap dealer and gives the courts additional power to impound vehicles used by metal thieves. The new law passed on June 26 and will be effective sixty days later. Hat tip to Recycling Today, which offers a MS Word download of the full revisions to the PA recycling law.
